WSM™ - WEB Service Manager

WSM™ makes it possible to modernize mainframe application architectures by freeing itself from transactional technologies and simplifying the transition to language modernization.

Web service management

WSM™ is a web service manager to operate mainframe transactional applications on the cloud of your choice. COBOL or Natural applications are adapted while maintaining the application logic. Transactions are published as micro-services.

1.

Web Service Publishing

WSM™ simplifies the creation and publication of APIs for web services. It simplifies each step of the API life cycle and streamlines collaboration between different services, whether they are original transactions or modernized services.

2.

Maintains the contextual flow

Like cloud computing and microservices, application services, with or without a state (Stateful or stateless), is gaining popularity. In a context of gradual modernization of the application heritage, WSM™ makes it possible to jointly operate these different types of services according to evolution and language strategies.

3.

Preserves the existing logic

CICS™ or IMS™-type transactional applications are integrated into WSM™ without major changes to their existing code. This transition process makes it possible to quickly roll-out new services and upgrade the man-machine interface to a modern architecture, permanently breaking free from obsolete and proprietary API technologies.

WSM™ core features

WSM™ contains a cohabitation gateway between COBOL and JAVA services that simplifies the removal of technical debt over time.

WEB service management

WSM™ is a web service manager that allows transactional applications originally built on proprietary architectures to coexist with new applications.

It makes it possible to seamlessly operate micro-services of various origin, such as transactions from legacy applications or JAVA services.

This solution accelerates the transition to modern technological bases such as the cloud and facilitates the erasure of technical debt.

Modernising the Transactional

WSM™ brings the ability to free oneself from obsolete architectures that are difficult to integrate into new information systems.

The transfer of existing transactional assets can be carried out without major changes, thus reducing the risk of evolution.

In this way, the historic application logic is maintained  while transactions are distributed through published services, available through REST or SOAP feeds.

IHM Modernization

For CICS or IMS™ type transactional application services, WSM™ allows you to import the description of maps or forms and generate views that can be used in a common framework such as Angular. The initial navigation mode is initially retained and can evolve according to the HMI modernization plan.

Supports multiple languages

WSM™ allows you to create and operate services developed in a variety of languages such as COBOL, JAVA, NATURAL or C.

Centralised Administration and monitoring

WSM™ offers centralised administration and monitoring for the execution of the various operating processes within a heterogeneous information system.

It makes it possible to visualize in real time all the processes being executed, to understand the use of the different resources and to act according to operational needs. History management makes it possible to graphically analyse the completion of the production plan on each operating instance in order to optimise the execution profiles.

web Service publishing

WSM™ can operates both state-free or stateless services. In the state-based service, resources related to contexts and sessions can be shared between services of a different technology such as COBOL or JAVA.

The publication of services is dynamic and centralized through the administration module, regardless of their nature or typology.

Key points

  • Allows you to operate CICS™ COBOL/NATURAL applications without much change in CLOUDs by publishing transactions in micro-services.
  • Simplifies the transition to a modern language of CICS™/COBOL transactions, by allowing cohabitation with modern languages (JAVA or C).
  • Distributes services through REST/SOAP interfaces.
  • It improves the secure integration of access through SSO or LDAP control.
  • It simplifies the management and administration of services through a unified graphical interface.
